A day of foraging, food and fire at the Oregon Coast.

Come gather with us at Cape Lookout State Park for a beachside conversation on foraging and food systems with marine biologist and coastal forager Alanna Kieffer of Shifting Tides, followed by a fire roasted lunch.

As the tide recedes, Alanna will tell tales of the interactions in the intertidal, species that exist and conditions that make it all possible. Dive into the oceanography and ecology of our rocky shores to learn how we can sustainably interact with them, then observe a firsthand demonstration on sustainable harvesting.

Afterward, head back to the beachside pavilion where the Tournant Team will be popping icy fresh oysters, preparing pizzas by the sea shore, and roasting mussels in a wood-fired oven.
